Before the first order, a diner enters their phone number and a one-time code. It ties the order to a real person, so you're not fielding prank tickets, and it stays remembered on their phone, so repeat visits skip straight to ordering. We only use the number for this.

Questions about ordering

Do my customers need to download an app? +
No. They scan the QR code at the table and your menu opens right in their phone's browser. They browse, build a cart, and place the order from there. There's nothing to install and no account to create first, which is the whole point.
Why do diners verify by SMS? +
The first time someone orders, they enter their phone number and a one-time code we text them. It ties the order to a real person so you're not getting prank tickets in the kitchen, and it's remembered on their phone so return visits go straight to ordering. We only use the number to verify the order.
How do payments and the 1% work? +
Diners pay by card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay when they place the order, and the kitchen only sees the ticket once the payment clears. On top of your Pro subscription we add a flat 1% on card payments, charged only on real sales, so we earn when you sell. Stripe's standard processing fee applies separately, the same as any card processor. Cash orders carry no Kiu-R fee at all.
What do I need to turn this on? +
Online ordering and payments are part of the Pro plan. You connect your account so payouts go straight to your bank, turn ordering on for the menus you want, and print the QR codes for your tables or counter. There's no hardware to buy and no app for your customers to install.
